Certificate in Securities (CISI)

The Certificate in Securities has been developed to provide employees advising and/or dealing in securities on behalf of professional or retail clients with the knowledge and the skills required for their job roles.

The full Certificate in Securities consists of two separate Papers. The Regulatory unit appropriate to the local environment (i.e. the SCA Rules & Regulations Paper or the DIFC Rules & Regulations Paper) and the Securities Paper.

The Certificate in Securities syllabus focuses on key concepts and principles relating to the creation, valuation, trading and management of financial instruments, comprehensive coverage of equities, debt securities and prime brokerage including primary and secondary markets enhanced coverage of valuation and accounting analysis as well as the risk/reward relationship of investment strategies.

  • Certificate in Securities – advising on investment and dealing with clients in securities only
  • Certificate in Derivatives – advising on investment and dealing with clients in financial and commodity derivatives only
  • Certificate in Securities and Financial Derivatives (SFD) – advising on investment and dealing with clients in securities and derivatives (not including commodities) only
  • Certificate in Investment Management – advising on investment management activities
  • Certificate in Corporate Finance – advising on investments in the course of corporate finance business only
