Introduction to the Financial Markets - 1 Day Programme
This programme has been divided into four sessions, with each session representing approximately 1.5 hours of tuition time.
Session 1 is an essential overview of the industry and its participants – it will clarify where various businesses like stockbrokers, fund managers, banks and exchanges fit into the broader picture.
Session 2 will begin to look at the key instruments that are traded in the market, concentrating on the more straightforward equities and fixed income instruments.
Session 3 will introduce and then cover derivatives, in particular futures, options and swaps.
Session 4 will complete the day by looking at the recent financial crisis - its roots in mortgage backed securities and subsequent evolution - and the way the financial markets in the region are emerging.
Throughout the course the tutor will be open to questions.
